Piedmont Avenue Halloween ParadeIt’s Halloween on the Avenue! Come by this Saturday for the Piedmont Avenue Halloween Parade and Celebration.

And please stop by the store for Trick-or-Treating. Look for the candy station sign in shop windows.

Costume Parade for children (and all of you who feel young at heart). It begins at 11 AM, starting at Montell and Piedmont Avenue. And the avenue will be closed to traffic from Yosemite to Linda Avenue from 10:30 AM to approximately 1 PM.

And there will be Trick or Treating for children under 10, who are accompanied by an adult. Look for shops with a candy station sign in the window. Trick or Treating begins after the parade until around 1 PM. Also there will be music and entertainment at several locations this year.

Here is a run-down of the schedule for Saturday, October 29th.

9:45 AM Take your pick
For older children there is a free cartoon show at the Landmark Piedmont Cinema (Linda and Piedmont Avenue)

Younger children can attend a special story time at the Piedmont Avenue Branch Library (3199 Piedmont Avenue)

11 AM Piedmont Avenue Halloween Parade
Featuring bagpiper John Noonan and our Grand Marshals Zarina Ahmad, Principal of Piedmont Avenue Elementary School and Jenera Burton, Manager of the Piedmont Avenue Branch Library (Begins at Piedmont Avenue and Montell, and ends at Linda Avenue.)

11:30 AM to 1 PM Musical Performance by Cascada de Flores
Piedmont Plaza (Linda and Piedmont Avenue)

After the parade there will be trick-or-treating at shops displaying a Candy Station sign.

Noon to 3 PM Mountain View Cemetery’s Pumpkin Patch Meadow
Featuring pumpkins, Halloween bags to decorate, 5 large jumping houses, balloon artist, and face painting, animal show, and a live band—plus a variety of food trucks/carts at reasonable prices. (5000 Piedmont Avenue)

12:30 PM Pet Costume Contest by Petfood Express
With prizes (and from 10am to 1pm Frankenstein will be available to pose for pictures with your pet for $15.) All proceeds will benefit Main Coon Adoptions. (3868 Piedmont Avenue)

1 PM Free Movies
Chapel of the Chimes
Nightmare before Christmas and Beetlejuice (4499 Piedmont Avenue)

Throughout the day you can enjoy the Pretty Scary Haunted House at the Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch for $5. They will also have live music and a make-up artist. (4414 Piedmont Avenue)
