San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade

San Francisco Chinese New Year ParadeSee the gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding firecrackers, and the newly crowned Miss Chinatown U.S.A. with her court at the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade. And, the spectacular 268′ Golden Dragon dances through the streets—it takes a team of over 100 people to carry through the streets of San Francisco.

The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade is one of the few remaining nighttime illuminated Parades. It started in the 1860’s by the Chinese in San Francisco to educate the community about their culture. And, the Parade and Festival have grown to be the largest celebration of Asian culture outside of Asia.

This year’s Parade promises to warm your heart and electrify your senses—come rain or shine.
