SF Chinese New Year Parade

SF Chinese New Year ParadeCelebrate Chinese New Year
Saturday, February 20th from 6 to 8 PM

Gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding firecrackers, the newly crowned Miss Chinatown U.S.A. with her court. Also the spectacular 268′ Golden Dragon—it takes a team of over 100 people to carry this through the streets of San Francisco.

The SF Chinese New Year Parade is one of the few remaining night-illuminated Parades. It started in the 1860’s by the Chinese in San Francisco to educate the community about their culture. The Parade and Festival have grown to be the largest celebration of Asian culture outside of Asia.
