Tate Dog Wines

Tate Dog WinesTate Dog Wines crafts awesome wine at a great price!

This small, local winery is located in the Livermore Valley AVA, and named after a miniature schnauzer with a passion for life.

Tate Dog Wines makes award-winning wines that are both excellent with a meal, and enjoyable drinking on their own.

Currently we have Tate Dog Winery Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc in the store. Come in and try a bottle!

Sauvignon Blanc
This wine is from grapes from the historic home ranch of Louis Mel who received the first Sauvignon Blanc cutting in California from the Marquis of Chateau Y’Quem in the 1800s. Like their famous cousins, the rocky conditions they grow in provide a bit of stone in a luscious, yet crisp treat. The flavor is complimented by full notes of peach and melon.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Top wine at 2016 SF Chronicle Wine Competition—Smooth!
The Wanless and Wisner families produced this wine from the land they have been carefully farming for over 100 years. From winter pruning until harvest, these vines were individually adjusted to maximize flavors.

Winemaker and friend, Calude Bobba, then handcrafted this luscious treat. It will linger on your palate.

It tastes of red and black fruits with cocoa notes, and elegant oak. The cab also contains a hint of mint, cedar and graphite. It’s delicious now, or will lay down nicely. Big enough for ribeye, yet balanced enough for sipping.

Only 400 cases were produced, and they are going fast!

Chardonnay
An awesome wine at a great price. And a medal winner, again!
This barrel fermented treat is elegantly yummy, with a creamy texture and fine mineralogy. Restrained oak and a great butterscotch caramel finish. And it’s great for quaffing on the patio with hors d’oeuvres and cheese.
