2014 Belmont Stakes

Belmont Stakes Watch California Chrome go for the Triple Crown, and attempt to make history.

2014 Belmont Stakes is Saturday, June 7th, and Golden Gate Fields is hosting the Triple Chrome Wine Festival where you can enjoy a day of horse racing and wine tasting. Sample a wide variety of wines and watch and wager on the final leg of the Triple Crown-the 2014 Belmont Stakes!

The festival will feature live music and a variety of vintners showcasing their wines in the Golden Gate Fields grandstand apron. You can getticket information here.

Belmont Jewel

Ingredients
1.5 ounces of Knob Creek Bourbon
2 ounces of lemonade
1 ounce of pomegranate juice

Directions
Shake vigorously with ice and serve in a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a red cherry or a lemon twist.

Belmont Breeze

The Belmont Breeze is the official drink of the Belmont Stakes. Created by New York’s premiere beverage authority Dale DeGroff, the profile of the Belmont Breeze comes from the colonial recipe: one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong and four of weak.

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces of a good American blended whiskey
3/4 ounces Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry
1/2 ounce of fresh lemon juice
1 ounce of simple syrup
(1 ounce of sweet and sour mix may be substituted for the lemon juice and simple syrup)
1 1/2 ounces fresh orange juice
1 1/2 ounces cranberry juice
1 ounce 7-Up
1 ounce Club Soda

Directions
Shake first six ingredients with ice, then top with 7-Up and club soda. Garnish with mint sprig and lemon wedge.
