The Gilroy Garlic Festival is California’s most pungent summer food fair, featuring three full days of delicious, garlicky food, summer entertainment, cooking contests, arts and crafts, and family fun.

The heart of the festival is Gourmet Alley, a gigantic outdoor kitchen where “Pyro Chefs” put on a spectacular flare-up show while preparing garlic-laced specialities. And the Garlic Cook-Off Theater features live cooking demonstrations and cutthroat competitions on all three days. And don’t forget to say hello to “Mr. Garlic” as he poses for photos in his giant bulb costume.
