The 57th NorCal Cherry Blossom Festival is one of California’s most prominent celebrations of Asian traditions. Plus, it’s the largest Cherry Blossom Festival on the West Coast! This year they will celebrate Japanese and Japanese American culture.

Since 1968, the festival cultivates the continued alliance between Japan and the United States using culture as its bridge. Each year, over 220,000 people attend this dazzling display showcasing the vibrant colors and grace of the Japanese culture and the rich heritage and diversity of the Japanese American community.

The festival takes place over two weekends.
Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14 & Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, 2024
At the Japantown Peace Plaza in San Francisco

The Grand Parade will take place on Sunday. It departs the Civic Center Plaza at 1 PM. And it proceeds up Polk Street to Post Street and ends in Japantown at Post and Fillmore Streets.

There are multiple Cultural Programs including Bonsai, Ikebana, Tea Ceremony, Doll Making, Go (a traditional board game), Martial Arts, Oragami, and music. The list goes on and on.
