The Alameda County Fair Opens this Weekend

Alameda County FairThe Alameda County Fair has everything you want from a classic county fair: the midway with Ferris wheels and roller coasters, fairground eats. and sweet treats. This year’s concert line-up includes Sugar Ray, Sheila E, Clint Black, Plain White Ts, Wynonna, Ann Wilson of Heart, and a whole list of tribute bands.

They will have food and drink, including the Red, White, and Brew Beer Fest with sampling of dozens of craft beers. The Sip, Savor and Wager Wine Festival provides samples of a variety of wines while you enjoy live horse racing. And, Snackdown Fryday features the fair’s food vendors.

There will be fireworks on the 4th, monster trucks, a demolition derby, and the Extreme Rodeo. Father’s Day will be celebrated on the 18th. And festival favorites including lawn games, farm exhibits, animals, rides, pig races, and special events.

The Alameda County Fair opens on Friday, June 16th with a live cattle drive through Pleasanton, and a Western-themed weekend. A team of 60 riders, 150 steer, and a pack of cattle dogs will enter Main Street at approximately 10:30 AM. They will drive the cattle through the downtown to the Fairgrounds. There will be more Western attractions through Sunday including rodeo games.

Wednesdays and Thursdays 12 noon to closing
Friday through Sunday (plus July 3rd and 4th) 11 AM to closing

4th of July at 9:30 PM at the Budweiser Grandstand

Military with I.D. are free all day, every day.
