Virtual Food Drive
Start a Virtual Food Drive. Help connect your family, friends, and coworkers by organizing a VFD and raise awareness from home.

Alameda County Community Food Bank is an emergency response organization. They regularly convene a team from all Food Bank departments to prepare for emergencies. This team is currently meeting daily for as long as the current situation requires.

  • They currently have at least a month’s worth of food in reserves and are ramping up food purchasing.
  • Their food distribution is increasing due to the pandemic. They’re expanding distribution sites and working with partner agencies and 9 school districts to ensure our community has access to food.
  • They are increasing production of Emergency Food Bags that contain a few days’ worth of shelf-stable groceries.
  • They are in regular contact with partners, legislators. and other key contacts throughout the County to develop contingencies for sourcing and distributing food.
