Berkeley Public Library Online Events

Berkeley Public Library Online EventsLovin’ the Library
We all know that our local libraries are fantastic resources and sometimes we don’t use them enough. And, we just stumbled upon this great series of online events happening through the Berkeley Public Library. Their calendar is full of activities for children and adults…and the list is long.

And, did you know that anyone who can prove residence in the Stat of California is eligible for a Berkeley Library card and can use all their online and virtual resources.

Here are a few that stood out for us:
For the kids there is a Virtual Family Storytime with stories, songs, fingerplays for ages 0-5. And, they also host Children’s Author Talks and a Kid’s Virtual Yoga Class.

Super Cinema Suggests is a weekly recommendation of movies available thru Kanopy. Did you know about Kanopy? It is a free, online movie subscription service through the public libraries with a great selection of documentaries, art films, and other non-mainstream movies.

ESL conversation Club invites all levels of ESL learners to join from the comfort of your own home.

And, to attend Cooking Matters at Home, register in advance for this popular series as it fills up about a month ahead.

They also have Lawyers in the Library, Covered CA Health Insurance Assistance, One on One Tech Help, Personal Finance workshops, Resume workshops, and Business Bootcamp. There are book discussions, an LGBTQ Book Club and something called Popping the Science Bubble where you can find out what scientists at Cal are up to.
