Bodega Seafood Festival 2017

Bodega Seafood Festival 2017Held on a rugged, rural ranch, a few miles inland from the spectacular Sonoma Coast, the Bodega Seafood Festival is both sophisticated and down-home. It has garnered the reputation for being one of the premier art, wine, beer, and food festivals in California. Thousands of foodies, art lovers, wine and beer connoisseurs and music lovers travel to picturesque Watts Ranch in the village where Alfred Hitchcock once filmed his classic thriller, The Birds.

Besides the classic barbecued oysters, crab cakes, Key Lime calamari, fish tacos, ahi wrapped in bacon, grilled salmon, and fish and chips always featured at the festival, this year will include mango shrimp salad, crawfish boil, crab Louies, and salmon cakes. In addition, don’t miss falafel, spanakopita and lamb Kefta from Mammy’s Yammy’s or excellent burgers, sausages and all the sides from The Wurst. Big Boy’s BBQ will have his killer pulled pork sandwiches and Tuck Box Indian will delight with chicken Masala, curries, and samosas.

The festival prides itself on the quality and diversity of the artists. And, this juried show attracts artisans from throughout California and other parts of the country.

This year the Main Stage headliners are the soulful Americana artist David Luning on Saturday and rockin’ blues with Roy Rogers and the Delta Rhythm Kings on Sunday. The stage also features jazz, swing, bluegrass and more, and has a large dance floor. The Wine Stage offers more eclectic musical entertainment. The Entertainment Stage showcases hilarious jugglers, magicians, and other non-musical acts.

This is a fun family event so there are jumps, slides, and rock wall, face painting, as well as ceramic painting for kids.
