Celebrate Oakland at Oakland First Fridays

Celebrate Oakland at Oakland First FridaysThis Friday, December 6th from 5 to 9 PM, the Oakland First Fridays Street Festival takes place in downtown Oakland along Telegraph Avenue from West Grand Avenue to 27th Street.

And, on the first Friday of every month, Oakland Art Murmur (OAM) hosts an evening art walk featuring arts and mixed-use venues collectively open to the public.

OAM features free public walking tours, introducing hundreds of visitors to Oakland’s galleries and the artists they show while learning about topics like ceramics, drawing, textile approaches in art, starting a collection, street art in Oakland, and trends in contemporary art.

Visit the Oakland First Fridays website. Or, get the details about Oakland First Fridays on their Facebook page.

This month’s theme is CELEBRATE OAKLAND.
It’s the holiday season and there’s no need to pick one…Oakland First Fridays will celebrate them all in the context of our amazing and diverse community and provide some of the best local shopping to be had.

Hip Hop for Change with local artist Ricky Waters Jr. takes place at 5:45 PM on the 24th Street Stage.

Come do your holiday shopping where your dollars stay in your community! Plus there’s food, art, and holiday tree trimming in the Kid Zone.
