Cucumber-Basil IPA Cooler

Cucumber-Basil IPA Cooler

What are you drinking at the game this weekend? It may be football season, but the weather is still warm. What could be more refreshing than a beer cooler mixed with vodka and sparkling Italian lemonade?

We are using Ballast Point Sculpin IPA because of the grapefruit overtones and muddling it with cucumber and basil for a refreshing, herbal flavor. This one just might become a favorite.

Cucumber-Basil IPA Cooler
Yields 1 cocktail

1-1/2 ounces vodka
2 basil leaves, chopped
6 slices of cucumbers
3 ounces sparkling Italian lemonade
3-6 ounces Citrus IPA (Ballast Point Sculpin IPA)

cucumber slices and small basil leaves

Add the vodka, basil, cucumbers, and sparkling lemonade to a shaker half-filled with ice.

Gently muddle, shake several times and strain into an IPA glass.

Top with the IPA to fill the glass and gently stir. Garnish with the cucumbers and basil and serve immediately.
