Dinner Out on the Avenue

Dinner on the AvenueSometimes you simply need to treat yourself to a delicious dinner out. And, we are so lucky to have so many options here, on Piedmont Avenue. These three restaurants are some of our staff’s favorite picks for that special occasion meal or when you just need to relax, get out of the kitchen, and enjoy the wonderful food our local restaurants have to offer.

Dopo is a landmark Sicilian restaurant that offers three daily changing tasting menus in addition to alla carta options. They offer classic and original Sicilian antipasti, pasta, and main courses. The wine list showcases the diverse and indigenous winemakers and farmers of the island. Their spirits program revolves around Italian spritz, aperitivi, bitter, and of course, amari.

Homestead was founded by husband and wife team Fred and Elizabeth Sassen—the menu is driven by their cooking-by-hand philosophy as the couple makes nearly everything in-house. The dishes are inspired by the couple’s travel, nostalgia, and California’s amazing products. The restaurant is inspired by Elizabeth’s great-grandparents who were homesteaders in Wyoming at the turn of the century. With hospitality and a daily changing menu Homestead offers an experience that is an extension of their home; a place to have a meal with a sense of family and community.
