This is one of our favorite stores to drop in and browse for gifts for all occassions. They have a great selection of unique home decor plus everything from kitchen items to gag gifts to dog collars and greeting cards. Plus they have amazing gift wrapping skills (for a reasonable price, too).

Nathan & Co. is the best place for browsing for fun gifts for yourself or others, both their Piedmont and College Ave. stores. Always stuff I want that is either useful and/or makes me laugh. Plus I love how dog-friendly they are! (And have dog and cat-themed presents and cards.) Plenty of useful things for my kitchen, too! Glad to support this great Oakland business.

If you are (or someone on your gift list is) into vinyl, you have got to pay a visit to this new record store on the corner of 65th and Telegraph. It has an excellent and diverse selection of new and used, rare and unusual records. And they are producing and promoting live music as well as in-store performances.

They are stylistically across the board, carrying jazz, international, folk and country, a lot of rock, and punk. Their owners are associated with the record label Superior Viaduct.
