Holiday Ice Skating in the Bay AreaLooking for some old-fashioned family fun over the winter break? Here is a short list of great rinks where kids on (and their parents) can enjoy some Holiday Ice Skating.

East Bay
Little Ice Rink is Alameda’s outdoor ice rink returns for the winter season. At the South Shore Center in Alameda. Monday through Friday, 12 PM to 10 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 10 PM. Through January 8th.

Oakland Ice Center is the East Bay’s premier ice rink with professionally-maintained ice. Their special holiday hours can be found on their website.

Walnut Creek on Ice where you can glide across 8,000 square feet of ice in a charming winter wonderland scene. Check the calendar for times. Through January 16th.

San Francisco
Embarcadero Holiday Ice Rink lets you skate under the sun and stars along the beautiful waterfront. Sunday through Thursday, 10 AM to 9:30 PM, Friday & Saturday, 10 AM to 11:30 PM. Through January 8th.

Union Square Ice Rink is in the heart of Union Square, one of San Francisco’s most magical destinations. 10 AM to 1:30 PM. Through January 16th.

California Academy of Sciences has a rink so you can combine ice skating with a visit to the museum, planetarium, and aquarium. Indoor snow flurries, a hands-on polar-themed exhibit and the all-new ice rink make for a great trip to Golden Gate Park.

Marin
Marin on Ice is located in the Oaktree Plaza at North Gate Mall in San Rafael. Featuring 6,400 square feet of real ice with both daytime and nighttime skating. Open through January 7th.

Santa Cruz
Boardwalk Holiday Ice Make a day of it and head to the boardwalk at Santa Cruz for some ice skating on the beach. Open through January 7th.
