MLK Day of Service 2022

MLK Day of Service 2022Celebrate Martin Luther King Day by giving back.
Monday, January 17th is the MLK Day of Service 2022. And there are so many opportunities to volunteer to do community service to honor his spirit. Gatherings include beach, park, and street cleanups and beautification projects.

Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service—a day on, not a day off. There are many local outdoor service projects to clean, green, and beautify parks, open spaces, and neighborhoods; as well as many remote service projects.

Two great ways to learn about volunteer opportunities are the Volunteer Match and All For Good websites. They both list projects and details. There is also a creek restoration project to restore Berkeley’s and Albany’s only trout stream. What a great day to get involved!

“The time is always right to do what is right.”
