Oaxaca Sunset

Oaxaca SunsetThis cocktail balances the bold flavor of mezcal with the brightness of hibiscus and ginger. It is the perfect drink for warm weather and delicious to sip while watching the sunset.

Oaxaca Sunset Recipe
Yields 1 Cocktail

2 ounces mezcal
3/4-ounce Greenbar Ginger Liqueur
2-1/2 ounces hibiscus tea
Orange peel for garnish

Pour all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake to mix. Strain the liquid into an ice-filled glass and garnish with an orange peel.

Hibiscus Tea
4 tablespoons Hibiscus Ginger Tea from The Tao of Tea
1 quart water
4 ounces simple syrup 1:1
4 ounces lemon juice

In a saucepan, simmer the Hibiscus and Ginger Tea in the water until the liquid is reduced by 2/3. Set aside to cool, and then strain through a fine-mesh into a jar with a tight-fitting lid, pressing the solids to release the juices.
