San Francisco Ballet’s 2019 Nutcracker

San Francisco Ballet's 2019 NutcrackerSeats are selling out for the San Francisco Ballet’s 2019 Nutcracker holiday performance. So, if you haven’t already, it is time to get your tickets! The Nutcracker is a great reason to get dressed up and go into the city for this uniquely San Francisco version of a familiar holiday tradition.

This year’s performance has more than 150 costumed characters—from Clara and the Nutcracker Prince to mice, fairies, to the Snow Queen. Listen to Tchaikovsky’s classic score performed live by the renowned SF Ballet Orchestra. And be dazzled by the elaborate scenery and costumes by a Tony Award-winning design team.

On Christmas Eve in 1944, the audience at San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House experienced the American premiere of Nutcracker. An instant sensation, the ballet launched a national holiday tradition.

This holiday season, join the dancers as the lights dim, the music soars, snowflakes swirl, flowers dance, and a little girl dreams about a whole new world in a Nutcracker. It is as unique as it is magical. And it’s only at SF Ballet.

Tickets include

  • Snow falling outside the Opera House, weather permitting!
  • A beautiful 75th-anniversary commemorative program book
