Santa Cruz Boardwalk 2022 Calendar

The Santa Cruz boardwalk is buzzing. This year, after two seasons off, the free movies and concerts are returning to the boardwalk.

Free movies
At 9 PM on Fridays from June 17th through August 12th free movies will be shown on the main beach in front of the colonnade. So, bring your snacks, a beach blanket or chairs, and some warm layers to watch: The Goonies (June 17); 50 First Dates (June 24); Sing 2 (July 1); Little Shop of Horrors (July 8); The Sandlot (July 15); Ghostbusters: Afterlife  (July 22); Ironman (July 29); Trolls (Aug. 5); and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (Aug. 12).

Free Thursday Concerts
The nine bands on the summer concert schedule are Extra Large (June 16); Sang Matiz (June 23); The Deadlies (June 30); Man in Black (July 7); Brass Magic (July 14); Pacific Roots (July 21); 4 to Prestigio (July 28); Coffee Zombie Collective (Aug. 4); and The Joint Chiefs (Aug. 11).

The Looff Carousel 111th anniversary
The Looff Carousel has been in the park since 1911, and the horses were all hand-carved by the Danish wood-carver Charles Looff, who made more than 50 carousels in his lifetime. Monday, July 25th is National Carousel Day. And, the first 100 riders will receive a souvenir brass carousel ring.

Boardwalk admission is free
Neptune’s Kingdom and the other arcades and indoor venues are open daily, with nighttime hours. The rides will be open daily, though with varying nighttime hours.
