Sparkling Cranberry Cocktail If you are making cranberry sauce over the holidays (And, why not? It’s so easy to do!), save a few spoonfuls for this delicious cocktail. It is festive and bubbly and perfect for kicking off a holiday meal.

We like to use our homemade cranberry sauce or something high-quality like Stonewall Kitchen.

Sparkling Cranberry Cocktail

Yields one cocktail

1 ounce gin
simple syrup, or to taste
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
2 barspoons cranberry sauce
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 ounces sparkling wine

Combine all ingredients, except the sparkling wine, in a shaker and shake with ice. Taste for sweetness. Double strain the liquid into a chilled flute glass, and top with sparkling wine.

Note: The sweetness of cranberry sauce can vary dramatically depending on your recipe, so it is important to adjust the amount of simple syrup to your taste.
