Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, the Danish bakery located on lower Telegraph Avenue closed, and the new Taste of Denmark Bakery rose in its place. The new Bakery, which launched in 2010, is a cooperative effort of the building’s owners and former employees—together, this group has more than 80 years of collective bakery experience.

We love being able to feature their products in our store and carry a full line of their breads, rolls and pastries. Their hearty rye breads make wonderful sandwiches, and we’re getting rave reviews on the slider rolls. Try the traditional cardamom and raisin cinnamon breads toasted. Taste of Denmark also bakes a full line of traditional cookies and cakes, and they’re known for their customized, hand-decorated special-occasion cakes.
