The Coconut Gin Fizz

Its base is coconut milk, which adds a touch of sweetness and the perfect amount of smooth-as-silk texture. Then, we sweeten it with agave. If you don’t have any on hand you can use honey or simple syrup.

The cocktail has a well-rounded flavor with ginger juice offering a touch of spice, that is immediately cooled and smoothed but the coconut milk and agave nectar. Then we add bubbly ginger ale and a splash of gin to give it that extra-special cocktail flavor.

If you are looking for a mocktail version, just skip the gin. It’s delicious!

Coconut Gin Fizz Recipe
Yields one cocktail

1 teaspoon agave or simple syrup more or less to taste
1-1/2 tablespoon canned coconut milk
1 shot (3 tablespoons) gin
1 juice of one lime
2 teaspoon ginger juice
Splash of seltzer water
Ice (either one cocktail cube or a handful of normal-sized ice cubes)
Wheel of lime and/or mint sprig for garnish

In a short glass combine the first five ingredients (not the seltzer water) and give it a stir. Add the ice and top with seltzer water to taste (about 1/4 cup). The seltzer gives the drink the “fizz”.

Garnish with a wheel of lime and/or mint sprig and relax.
