Amarula Cocktail

This dessert cocktail is reminiscent of a Mudslide. The three main ingredients are Amarula liqueur, coffee liqueur, and milk. This Amarula Cocktail is super simple to prepare, and so delicious. It is sweet enough to be served as a boozy dessert—especially if you add a drizzle of chocolate syrup to your cocktail glass.

Amarula is a cream liqueur from South Africa. It is made with sugar, cream, and the fruit of the African marula tree which is also locally called the elephant tree because African bush elephants enjoy eating the fruit.

Amarula is similar to an Irish creme liqueur but with a fruitier flavor. It has a wonderful balance of sweetness and brightness that makes it irresistible. In this cocktail, the Amarula balances the bitterness of a coffee liqueur, and the milk supports these flavors beautifully, creating a creamy and smooth drink.

And, your new bottle of Amarula is also yummy over ice or cut with a bit of milk. You can drizzle some over ice cream or flavor whipped cream. You can also try it in Irish Coffee by replacing the Irish Whiskey with Amarula.

1 ounce coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua)
2/3 cup whole milk
Ice cubes
Chocolate syrup for garnish (optional)

Directions
Pour the Amarula, Kahlua, and milk into a glass filled with ice cubes and stir to combine.
