Bar Gelato

Bar GelatoClassic Italian Gelato, regionally crafted in Berkeley.
Try Bar Gelato — a new way to enjoy Naia’s hand-crafted, artisanal gelato. Made from locally-sourced ingredients, Bar Gelato is crafted in small batches in the traditional Italian manner, then frozen into a bar form that’s easy to take with you, wherever you are going.

For those of you not familiar with Gelateria Naia, they started in 2002 in a storefront on Shattuck in Berkeley, and have since grown to open shops in SF and Walnut Creek. They source from local food producers like Tcho Chocolates, St. George Spirits, and Blue Bottle Coffee.

Gelato, a traditional Italian frozen dessert, is made mainly with milk and not cream. This means that gelato has more flavor with fewer calories. So, no artificial flavoring and no corn syrup. Bar Gelato is made from a few simple ingredients and real flavor.

And, right now we are carrying these flavors in the store:

Lindcove Ranch Tangelo Sorbetto
Lindcove Ranch in Exeter, CA grows specialty citrus like citron, Buddha’s hand, and the Minneola tangelos used for this dairy-free bar.

ALBA Farms Strawberry-Banana Sorbetto
ALBA trains farm workers and aspiring growers to start their own organic farms in Salinas, CA. They grow fresh organic berries for this bar.

TCHO Chocolate
TCHO Chocolate of San Francisco allow us to go interrupt their production process and divert raw Ghana cacao liquor into this bar.

Pistachio
Fiddyment Farms of Lincoln, CA has grown Kerman pistachios for over forty years. They hand roast and we hand mill the nuts into this bar.

St. George Single Malt Whiskey
St. George Spirits of Alameda, CA is an artisan distillery. We pour their finest single malt whiskey right into this bar.

Madagascar Vanilla
This gelato is anything but plain vanilla. We use a full-bodied rich vanilla from the Madagascar Bourbon Isles to craft this bar.

And we also have their Ritual Roasters Coffee, Pistachio and Madagascar Vanilla in 25 ounce containers.

You can find Bar Gelato in a freezer up in the front of the store by the checkstands. Tey are by the Konery Ice Cream Cones.
