These free events provide a gathering place that includes live music, hands-on activities, Off the Grid food trucks, and the newly-launched Town Fare sun deck (featuring an outdoor bar and select bar bites from the OMCA cafe menu).

Take advantage of late-night access to the Oakland Museum of CA galleries and special exhibitions with a Museum ticket, or bring a blanket and lounge in the garden, now open with direct access to Lake Merritt.

Inspired by the community’s stories of resilience and reconnection over the past two years, Friday Nights at OMCA has been reimagined as a more intimate experience where visitors can break bread and enjoy weekly programming that dives deeper into themes that drive OMCA’s mission like community, belonging, and connection.

This Friday, July 29th from 5 to 9 PM you will find:

July Off The Grid mobile food lineup
Curveball Sliders, Cool!naria, Caribbean Spices, Southern Comfort Kitchen, Curry Up Now, Golden Gate Gyro, and Momolicious.

DJ Ron Reeser in the amphitheater from 5 to 7 PM.

Performances & Readings curated by Nomadic Press in the garden from 5 to 8 PM.
End your week with readings and music curated by Nomadic Press that highlight themes from Painting the Streets: Oakland Uprising in the Time of Rebellion. Through publications, events, and active community participation, Nomadic Press collectively weaves together platforms for intentionally marginalized voices to take their rightful place within the world of the written and spoken word.
