Maple Leaf Cocktail

Maple Leaf CocktailThis favorite brunch cocktail is perfect for Mother’s Day. The Maple Leaf Cocktail is made with bourbon, coffee, orgeat syrup and bitters. Frangelico adds a hint of hazlenut. And don’t forget the vanilla ice cream!

Maple Leaf Cocktail
1 1/2 ounces bourbon
1 1/2 ounces cold-brew coffee
1/2 ounce orgeat syrup
2 dashes chocolate bitters
2 tablespoon spiced maple simple syrup*
1 tablespoon Frangelico
1 scoop vanilla ice cream

Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake to chill, pour into a stemmed glass, and garnish.

How to make spiced maple simple syrup
Mix 2 cups of maple syrup and 1 cup of water in a pot, shave in about a quarter of nutmeg and throw in 3 cinnamon sticks, bring to a slow boil stirring regularly, and be careful not let it burn. Remove from heat and allow cool. This is delicious for sweetening coffee.
