MLK Day of Service 2019

MLK Day of Service Celebrate Martin Luther King Day by giving back.
Monday, January 21st is the MLK Day of Service 2019. And there are so many opportunities to volunteer to do community service to honor his spirit. Gatherings include park and street cleanups and beautification projects.

Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service—a “day on, not a day off.” Oakland will host outdoor service projects to clean, green, and beautify parks, open spaces, and neighborhoods; as well as indoor service projects such as food pantry assistance.

You can register as a volunteer at the Oakland website. Another great resource for learning more about specific events is the All For Good website with a list of projects with all the details.

“The time is always right to do what is right.”
