Oakland Earth Day is Saturday April 23

Earth DayEarth Day marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. Thousands of volunteers will join Oakland’s largest community volunteer event on April 23, 2016.

In 2015 approximately 3,400 volunteers pitched in more than 15,000 hours at 90 sites across Oakland. Volunteers removed more than 170 cubic yards of trash and more than 500 cubic yards of weeds and green waste.

Check out their website for a list of volunteer sites and how to register, as well as other important details.
