Sculpin IPA

Ballast Point Sculpin IPAA trophy beer from Ballast Point Brewing Company with homebrew roots.
From start to finish, this beer is impressive. Sculpin IPA has won gold-medals. Its inspired use of hops creates hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors, but still packs a bit of a sting, just like a sculpin fish.

As with all of the really good IPA’s balancing the bitter hops vs malt is an art form. This beer accomplishes this with ease. Sculpin goes well with food, and pairings include Coconut Basmati Rice, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, and Tropical Bread Pudding.

Ballast Point Brewing Company was started by two UCLA college roommates who began brewing beer in their apartment. Their philosophy has always been to do what you love. So, they make what they love to drink. They named the beers after their favorite sport—fishing. Today, many of the beers are named for fish or fishing terms, and the labels have fish on them.

Sculpin IPA has a Beer Advocate score of 97, this makes it a world-class beer. It’s not to be missed!
