The Stern Grove Festival Starts This Weekend!

Stern Grove FestivalStern Grove Festival’s 80th Season presents free concerts on Sunday afternoons from June 25 through August 27th.

Arrive early to spread out your blanket and stake your spot, it’s an excellent way to spend a relaxing Sunday in a beautiful park setting watching free performances from top touring acts and local institutions like the San Francisco Ballet and Symphony.

Bring a blanket, and picnic (alcohol is OK if you are of legal drinking age). There are water refill stations available. And don’t forget to wear layers!

The Stern Grove Festival offers admission-free access to diverse, outstanding performing arts. Every year since 1938, the organization presents wonderful outdoor concerts. A San Francisco tradition, music and nature lovers gather at The Stern Grove Festival to enjoy music, picnicking, and relaxation in a serene meadow surrounded by giant eucalyptus, redwood, and fir trees.

Stern Grove Festival takes place in Sigmund Stern Grove, located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. Patrons are encouraged to use public transportation. There is no public parking area at Stern Grove on concert Sundays. Parking in the area is extremely limited.

Concerts begin at 2:00 p.m. Concerts usually end between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

General seating is first come, first served. Arrive early for best seating. Seating is first come, first served. The Concert Meadow may close to admittance if capacity is reached.
