Celebrating the Year of the Dragon
The SF Chinese New Year Parade 2024 is one of the few remaining night-illuminated Parades in North America and the biggest parade celebrating the lunar new year outside of Asia. A San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush, you can join the excitement this coming Saturday on the streets in SF.

The parade starts at 2nd and Market Streets, goes around Union Square, and ends at Kearny Street & Columbus Ave. The parade route is approximately 1.3 miles. The parade is a free event for all to attend and you may stand anywhere on the parade route, behind the barricades, to watch the parade.

Here is a link to the FAQ page with a map of the parade route.

Saturday, February 2 at 5:15 PM
Rain or shine.

The parade is free for all to attend.
And, tickets can be purchased in advance to sit in the bleacher sections (not a bad idea).

It is strongly recommended that everyone take public transportation as there will be road closures downtown.

Community Street Fair
There is also a Community Street Fair happening on Feb 24th and 25th starting at 10 AM with activities and entertainment for all ages. Enjoy Chinese folk dancing, opera, drumming, and much more at the entertainment stage in the heart of San Francisco Chinatown.
