Looking for things to keep the kids busy, or simply bored with the usual activities? There is such a wealth of thingsto do in the Bay Area. Here is a list of family events we love to fill long summer days.

Last Saturday & Sunday of every month
Treasure Island Flea Market 
An urban open-air market held the last Saturday & Sunday of every month on Treasure Island in San Francisco. The Market features local indie, etsy, makers, artists, antiquers, crafters, collectors, vintage, specialty food purveyors, award winning California Wines, a changing selection of SF Food Trucks, local bands and entertainment.

June 30th to July 4th
Alameda County Fair’s 9th Annual Amateur Rib and Chicken Cook-Off for Charity
Three winners from each day will advance to the Finals on Sunday July 4.

June 20th to 24th
Sonoma–Marin Fair

June 29th to July 4th
Napa County Fair and Fireworks

July 7th
Bay Area BBQ Championship–Oakland Coliseum
The Oakland A’s benefit for foster youth before the game in the Creekside Lot. Highlights include the Pro/Am cook-off, beer/BBQ pairing tent, live BBQ demos, celebrity judges, benefit concert, baseball clinics, and family attractions.

July 13th to 15th
Brentwood Cornfest ’12
Celebrating our agricultural heritage in a three-day weekend of fun, food and entertainment. Plenty of local grown corn and fun filled corn activities.

July 19th
Taste of Terroir–Livermore Valley’s Wine & Food Experience
Livermore Valley Winemakers and Bay Area Chefs team up to create innovative and delectable wine and food pairings showcasing the Valley’s bountiful terroir Gilroy

July 27th to 29th
Garlic Festival Gilroy

July 28th and 29th
The Berkeley Kite Festival

July 28th
California Beer Festival, Santa Cruz
Beautiful Aptos Village Park will be the site of the festival, with over 70 craft beers, three bands, mouth watering food, and bocce ball. The CBF’s main goal is to shine a light on the craft beer movement and celebrate great beer.

Usually scheduled for the third Saturday of each month.
