How about some winter holiday ice skating? It’s a great activity for all kinds of kids—little and big. And, if you are concerned about the spotty weather and genuine cold this week, here is a list of indoor rinks that will keep you dry.

Oakland Ice Center is the East Bay’s premier ice rink with professionally-maintained ice. Their special holiday hours can be found on their website. Oakland residents can receive a 10% discount on general admission with proof of residence. They are open year-round.
519 18th Street, Oakland

Yerba Buena Ice Skating and Bowling in San Francisco for all ages. You will need to purchase advanced tickets for the holiday week. They have a wall of windows that look out onto Yerba Buena Gardens and the SF skyline.
750 Folsom St, San Francisco

The Little Ice Rink is located at Alameda Point. It is housed within a historic airplane hangar and offers an outdoor feel with protection from the elements. It is perfect for winter holiday ice skating. They also have Off The Grid food trucks nearby.
1951 Monarch Street, Alameda

Solar4America Ice at Fremont (also known as Sharks Ice) is the sister rink to Oakland Ice and is a permanent fixture for recreational skating and competitive training. The indoor rink also offers public skate sessions for up to 40 individuals during the 2021 winter season.
