Mushroom Manhattan

Mushroom Manhattan cocktail with a citrus twist

The Mushroom Manhattan cocktail may sound, well, unlikely. But, we guarantee the woodsy umami of the mushroom pairs beautifully with the oaky tobacco-reminiscent whiskey flavors. Add the sweetness of vermouth and you have a winning combination. The cocktail also has a dash (or two) of Angostura bitters lending it citrus overtones.

Mushroom cocktails are trending along with a culinary leaning towards umami flavors. Try one, and then experiment with different mushroom varieties. This makes for a delightful fall sipper.

Fall Colors Cocktail

Fall Colors Cocktail over ice in a collins glass
This easy-to-mix Fall Colors Cocktail is reminiscent of the season with its spicy and floral flavors and golden and orange colors.

It begins with bourbon and elderflower liqueur. The spice comes from ginger beer (not ginger ale) and there is a healthy dose of bitters poured over top for a garnish. You can serve it with the floating bitters for the full-color effect and choose to either stir them in or sip it with the bitters on top.

The Flannel Cocktail

There is a hint of fall in the air, and it’s getting to be time to dig out our flannels. So, while we are at it, we can change from the light and fruity flavors of summer cocktails into something warmer, darker, and with deeper flavors. The Flannel Cocktail will help to drive away the chill like a favorite flannel shirt.

One essential ingredient is allspice dram. This is a seasonal offering in our store. We have it on the shelves, so you may want to grab a bottle while it is available.

Other important ingredients are cognac, apple cider syrup, and a splash of orange for brightness.

Cold Brew Negroni

The result of our Cold Brew Negroni recipe is a wonderfully caffeinated take on the classic, bittersweet aperitif. The flavors mesh perfectly with sweet vermouth and walnut bitters for a complex flavor profile.

This is a great warm-weather cocktail when you need a little pick-me-up. And, for folks who enjoy cold drinks in all kinds of weather, it is a year-round treat. And, of course, you can always infuse your Campari with decaf if you prefer.

And, as for the gin, it is worth using the good stuff in this cocktail as the flavor definitely comes through.
