About Meletti
Since 1870, the Meletti family has been producing Italy’s most beloved liqueurs in the fertile lands of Ascoli Piceno on the Adriatic coastal region of Le Marche. Under the direction of Silvio Meletti, the finest, natural ingredients are cultivated, selected, and blended to create limited-production artisanal cordials, aperitivos, digestivos, and liqueurs of distinctive character. Their art of distillation, along with original recipes, have been passed down through generations of Melettis and are the foundation of the family’s portfolio today.

Most ingredients for Meletti Liqueurs, including the anise and other natural herbs and botanicals, are sourced from local Le Marche growers who work exclusively with Meletti. Other ingredients are sourced from high-quality producers specializing in each product. From citrus fruit cultivated by Italy’s top growers in Sorrento to Dutch cocoa imported from The Netherlands.

Here is what we have in stock
1870 Bitter Aperitivo
A traditional Italian aperitivo with three separate distillates. sweet orange, bitter orange, and a spice and herb infusion are blended with pure spirits to create a mildly bitter, yet refreshing aperitivo. The impressively complex flavor profile starts with sweet citrus, moves through a bitter middle, and finishes with gentian, coriander, cinnamon, and clove notes.

This Aperitivo is traditionally enjoyed with a splash of club soda or mixed with vermouth and soda to make an Americano, 1870 also lends itself to many exciting cocktail applications.

Amaro
Meletti Amaro is produced according to a secret family recipe that originated at the turn of the century. This remarkable blend of aromatic fruits, herbs, and spices creates a perfectly balanced digestivo that is neither overly bitter nor overly sweet. Amaro is traditionally enjoyed on its own after a meal. Still, the intoxicating aromas and flavors of sweet orange peel and bitter genziana root, a plant local Le Marche, along with notes of cloves, add a unique component to cocktails.

Anisetta
Meletti Anisette is one of Italy’s oldest liqueurs produced using Silvio Meletti’s original recipe from 1870. Naturally aromatic, anise seeds from Le Marche are distilled in a bain marie, then blended with herbs for further distillation to attain intensified aromatics and a smooth palate. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 4-6 months, then fine-filtered using wool, Meletti Anisette is an elegant digestivo that is enjoyable on its own or with coffee.

Cioccolato
Milk and Dutch cocoa are combined with sugar and alcohol to create a decadent and intensely rich chocolatey spirit. Whether warmed for a hot chocolate a la Meletti or chilled, Cioccolato easily replaces dessert. Enjoy on its own, poured over ice cream, or as the key ingredient in an indulgent cocktail.

Fernet
When Silvio Meletti attended his first Fair in Paris in 1878 he brought his distinguished liqueurs. These would quickly win awards and become famous. Among the group was Silvio’s distinctive Fernet. Silvio left to his descendants a book with all the original recipes and after 148 years, his great-great grandchildren; Matteo and Mauro Meletti, took inspiration to produce Meletti Fernet again.

Sambuca
Over a century of fine distilling and a royal patent issued in 1879 are testaments to the great reputation of Meletti Sambuca. The best anise plants are cultivated from the clay soil of Ascoli Piceno. Careful blending and the use of pure anise flavors elevate Meletti’s Sambuca to a new dimension of elegance and smoothness. Rich and full-flavored, this is a perfect way to end a meal. Serve with coffee or straight-up with three coffee beans for good luck. Meletti Sambuca is one of Italy’s most prized liqueurs.
